Carbon offset
A new, environmentally friendly ”YUI style” to protect Japan’s beautiful scenery
YUI PRIMA OLIVIA travels 60,000 km per year and emits around 50 tons of CO2.
Shinki Bus has purchased 250 tons of CO2 emission rights for a five-year period (J Credits) from Okayama-No-Mori-Seibi-Kousha (Okayama Forest Management Public Corporation), and is contributing to activities that promote the absorption of an equivalent amount of CO2 by thinning and managing forests in Okayama Prefecture, expanding mixed coniferous and broadleaf forests.
As a new environmentally friendly sightseeing bus tour, YUI PRIMA OLIVIA will utilize the J-Credit Scheme to offset the amount of CO2 emitted by the buses.
What is carbon offsetting?
The idea of “offsetting” can be done in different ways, such as reducing CO2 emissions from economic activities or taking steps and investing in CO2 absorption.
